InTimer
The Challenge
For volunteer and parent coaches, tracking playing time and managing fair substitutions during live games is tricky. Stopwatches and clipboards pull their attention away from what matters most—coaching the kids. These coaches needed a simple way to track equal playing time, not only for parent conversations, but ultimately to help young players get enough playing time to fall in love with their sport.
Our Approach
We designed InTimer around a simple philosophy: be useful in a coach's hand without consuming their attention. We started with large, readable type and substantial buttons that work even when coaches are focused on the field. Haptic feedback lets them feel interactions without looking down. We built automated substitution-pairings based on accumulated playing time, removing the mental burden entirely. The visual language needed to match the energy—bold and vibrant like the kids themselves.
The Result
An app so intuitive that coaches keep their eyes on the field, not the screen. InTimer now helps thousands of young athletes get equal opportunities to grow, while freeing coaches to do what they love: coach.
